Sapa at a glimpse
Located 300km from Hanoi, Lao Cai can be reached by car or train. There is National Highway No.70, 279, 4D linking Lao Cai to Yen Bai, Lai Chau and Ha Giang, China in turn. Lao Cai preserves lots of special cultural, historical sites. Typical sites are Sapa ancient rock field; Sapa, a unique natural tourist site; Bac Ha Market, the biggest fair near the mountainous highlands. Festivals here are very special.
Visit Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, Ta Van, Cat Cat and Sin Chai are the famous villages around Sapa town and the most frequented in Sapa. These villages are the residence of the Mong and the Dzay minority people for hundreds years. Since the beginning of the life until now, the people live here and create a treasure of culture and local knowledge which always attract any tourist. It is also amazing to admire the terraced rice fields built by generations and generations of the local people.
