Sapa at a glimpse
Located 300km from Hanoi, Lao Cai can be reached by car or train. There is National Highway No.70, 279, 4D linking Lao Cai to Yen Bai, Lai Chau and Ha Giang, China in turn. Lao Cai preserves lots of special cultural, historical sites. Typical sites are Sapa ancient rock field; Sapa, a unique natural tourist site; Bac Ha Market, the biggest fair near the mountainous highlands. Festivals here are very special also.
The first day is reserved for the long trek along Muong Hoa River on 18 km. You will cross some villages of the Mong, the Dzay and the Dzao people. You have time to visit the local people’s house to understand more about them. You can also use up the time for taking pictures of beautiful terraced rice fields alternating the bamboo forests which cover all the valley with a fresh green color.
The second day is the moment for you to visit Suoi Ho and Ma Tra, two villages that few tourists frequent. Even these villages are quite close to Sapa, the life is still quite original. The trek last around 7 to 8 hours on about 15 km. The trip is ended at Ta Phin village of the Dzao people who are famous for their handicrafts.
